Brief

When you're told you can't or shouldn't have much of it anymore, you see it differently. It's no longer so "common" and becomes something much more desirable and valuable.

The song Salt is about the staple kitchen item, "salt. It's written as a personification to show appreciation for the ingredient that's often called Common.

Backstory

I was ill when I had the idea for this song. I recovered and got to composing, and now it's out! The general press release I'm distributing is as follows;

Who's writing songs for the chronically or critically ill? Jon Bellion, Ed Sheeran... I don't know many who are.

I know, though, after what I witnessed during my hospital stay, that they too can benefit from artists seeing and representing them in their works. Maybe not too many, but one more artist like myself, I believe, is good. I wished there was a song out that I could relate to when I was ill.

Hence, I've chosen to be of service to the rest, whether in recovery or have recovered and for the loved ones of those who lost their fight, starting with this song, "Salt.
